The Beatles are one of the reasons why music sounds the way it does today. In the 50's holding girls hands and driving in cars with boys was taboo, teenage girls that got pregnant gave up their children. The songs they sang were very mild so that society and the powers that be would accept it. Christ Elvis got in trouble for swinging his hips but boy band not!

In the late 1970's, when I was in junior high school, a lot of my classmates said that Lynyrd Skynyrd was much better than The Beatles. That's not quite as psychotic as calling The Beatles a boy band, but it's still pretty far out there.

....and besides, the word back in the day was 'group', I was around then, and first saw the Beatles on British TV on a Sunday night show called the Palladium, like Ed Sullivan ...back in 62....and John was by far the most soulful of all of them, as it turns out....the words, the pain in his voice...out of all that, rose such greatness.....TR:-)
