I made perfect sense. The 04 - 06 Pontiac GTO's were made by an Australian car maker, GM Holden Ltd. They are manufactured at Elizabeth, near Adelaide, South Australia. These GTO's were not manufactured by Pontiac.

Do a bit of research into the history of the Holden car company, you ignorant fuckwit. You might learn something. Stop thinking that you know what you are talking about when you really know nothing. GM bought Holden Motor Body Builders in 1931, not "the 60's". Pontiac is a subsidary of GM, just like Holden is. Pontiac do not own Holden. The GTO is made in Australia by Holden. Go and fuck your hat.

What makes you think that GM is an American company? Last year there were more GM cars manufactured outside the USA than in the USA. Most of the subsidary GM companies are doing better financially than the parent company. The GM head office happens to be in Detroit, but GM is a global multinational company.

You can buy a GTO in Australia. It was made by HSV, Holden Special Vehicles. It did not have Pontiac badges on it. They started selling them in 2001. It does not have the Pontiac style front, it is more like a Monaro. It had a 6.0 litre LS2 engine. There was ONE place on this planet that built the 04-06 GTO's, it was the Holden factory at Elizabeth, South Australia. Put the word "period" at the end of your comment again, it makes you sound more convincing.

debating abortion is debating oppinion. Debating where the GTO was made is stupid because it is a FACT that it was made in Australia. Just because its being sold as a rebaged "American" car, doesnt mean its any more "American" than your ipod that was assembled in Asia, using Asian made parts even though Apple is an American company.

Yes. Since 1998 the Holden Commodore has been exported from Australia to South Africa and some Middle Eastern countries rebadged as Chevrolet Lumina. It is now also sold in the UK as a Vauxhall VXR8, but with HSV Clubsport R8 specifications.

It is good to see a non biased American review. Most American's dismiss the Impreza simply because it is Japanese. I love both cars, but the Impreza is the obvious choice for me.
As for the Australian / American GTO thing, the car was designed and built in Australia, but it was sold all over the world under a different badge. In Australia it was the Holden Monaro, In America it was the Pontiac GTO, in the UK it was the Vauxhall Monaro, and in the Middle East it was the Chevrolet Lumina Coupe.
