| the tension in the belt prevents slippage, just like the drive belts in your engine that drive the power steering/air conditioning pumps...the steel belt is made up of "elements" joined together and they have edges on them them are carefully engineered to fit the profile of the pulleys very accurately and give a positive drive. |

| Awesome how Mitsubishi puts paddles to make the user FEEL he has gears to shift with, and as such the tranny ends up "emulating" the regular tranny, so basically the advantages of the CVT is lost.. lol |
