My parents were apart of the Depression and Second World War generation and this song touched a real chord in their lives. One of my happiest memories is of them dancing to Mack the Knife with such real joy. I am forever in the debt of Bobby Darrin for this song. For my husband and I it's the love theme of the movie Lady Sings the Blues. Bobby rest in peace and may you know your talent will always be remembered and revered.
