And csampan1 Yes Stefan Bellof did do a lap in 6.11 the year before he was killed at Spa over twenty years ago. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Look up Bellof accident at Spa and check it out for yourself.

As the others have pointed out that was Derek Bell, the driver of the car. That lap he did was a 6 min lap for 13 miles. He has no reason to lie, and if you check the Ring site it can confirm the speeds for you.

He is a gentlemen of men. I met him last year at Laguna Seca, and is a well rounded guy, and quite funny too. Its a shame we dont have more drivers like him.

Belofs lap record for the Nordschleife still stands - I think it was 6:11 if I remember rightly.
It's a shame that a guy of his talent wasn't around long; due to the fatal shunt at Spa in 1985.

this may sound a bit lame but i use this vid alongside a lap of the ring with my forza on the xbox,its a proper rush with Dereks commentary,but i manage to do a 6.43 with my wheel on it,but in real life i would defo brown them!!!!

Magnificent driving by a legend in one of the greatest race machines in history.
Smooth as a babies bum without pushing too hard. Would have been nice if they kept more engine note for the vid but one of the greatest in car vids i've seen.
Lot of practice laps to get the balls up to hold pace for those blind ones. Phenomenal driving...6-1/2 min lap with weight onboard and not pushing.

i cant believe this was done by a human! on gt4 its nearly impossible to stay on the track near the straight because the bumps will fling you off and then add the g forces and the fact that youll actually die its unbelievable!

In those times the drivers were ....pro's....No traction control at all or ABS etc. If you crash in those times at le mans and others, you just died, that were the real mans. Who got the real balls. Respect.
