Because I was born in 1984, and didn't start playing video games until 1991 or 1992, I don't know too much about the video game crash. Can anybody tell me if the video game crash effected any other countries other than the US? I ask this because I live in Australia.

It commonly called the "North American Video Game Crash", so I assume it only majorly affected the US and possibly Canada or Mexico.

I agree. Actually I personally think there are less original games out there today. There are companies that do make very creative games today but they just get overshadowed by the unoriginal super graphiced ones.

It does not help that most of the creative games are never officially released outside of Japan.

Interesting, you know I never even knew there was a video game crash, it just seems so weird when you think on it now just how successfull the majority of games are. Yet everything went stupid wrong back then because of one companies idiocy!

I was 7 in 1983. Funny thing is, the first time I ever heard of the Video Game Crash
of 1983 was on the Internet less than 2
years ago. I was looking up video game
related topics on Wikipedia. I think I
still have an E.T. Atari video game in a
box in my house.
