As someone who listens to both Punk rock AND rap, this is a very ignorant statement. Most likely you are basing this opinion off of mainstream rappers like 50 cent, T pain or anything on the radio. You are falling into the same trap that the average person falls into when they put groups like Good Charlotte or Avril Lavigne in with punk rock. IMO this song isn't a broad swipe at Christianity in general. It just examines how the idea of Jesus is morphed into a motive for many bad things including war and murder as well as more insincere and not necessarily bad things.
Also touches on the thoughtless nationalistic pride americans that they probably think of Jesus as American. "i don't need to be a global citizen, cuz I'm blessed by nationality"

gurewitz may have been inspired to write this after hearing Bush sr say god was on their side however it's not necessarily an attack on Bush sr himself or christians.
IMO it's basically how an idealistic figure such as Jesus is universally and mindlessly used as a figure of national pride, a justification for war almost, motivation for murder.
